The opportunity and desire here does not seem to be for "democracy" in my opinion; what seems to be the purpose behind all of this economic and ideological in nature. In the instability of the region the West gains a remarkable amount of oil and a million refugees for cheap labor in other countries. The ideology of the neo-cons doesn't seek democracy, it seeks a permanent enemy to wage war against and by creating a war against terrorism which cannot be won the neo-cons have succeeded marvelously at their purpose. My polling place was a good 50 miles from my home. Talk about annoying. What's worse, I received a jury duty notice from the wrong county. How did I get out of jury duty? I sent the form back with "I don't live in your county" written on it and they dropped it. Stupid bureaucrats. "We'll make your lives easier--except...no."
