I think you missed the point of the article. I wasn't writing about the relationship between people but between us and the world around us. I guess you don't understand metaphor and just want to plug your product. sheesh.

Such a great post. And so true. The current "environment" has taken a toll on so many marriages and relationships few people have even considered. I personally know several couples in their 30s or 40s who have lost the battle.

So sad. In fact, many of us give up way too soon. In fact it is so hard to know if a relationship Is really over.
. It might seem to be. But is there hope? A love-based relationship is so precious, it's a crime to let it die without a fight. The trick is finding the right support and advice - either in the "real world" or online. But it's there. Good luck! Keep searching!

Jamie London
RelationshipProductGuide.com

Democracy or not - if our government was ripped away how long would the chaos last? How long does it take to establish a stable government in that situation is what I was really trying to ask.

Admitedly the piece was written awhile ago and not much rewritten before posting so it's probably not all that well thought out.

I'm betting we could pull out tomorrow and a government would form. We wouldn't like it, but it would form and stability would appear as if by magic. The opportunity and desire here does not seem to be for "democracy" in my opinion; what seems to be the purpose behind all of this economic and ideological in nature. In the instability of the region the West gains a remarkable amount of oil and a million refugees for cheap labor in other countries. The ideology of the neo-cons doesn't seek democracy, it seeks a permanent enemy to wage war against and by creating a war against terrorism which cannot be won the neo-cons have succeeded marvelously at their purpose.

"no matter how long it takes or how many soldier’s lives are lost"...it is one thing to volunteer oneself for battle and quite another to volunteer someone else.

I hate registering to vote when renewing my driver's license. The next-to-last time that I registered, I had just moved back to my home town and my address is really weird. I live in one county, but the city that my mail is delivered through is in another. It works fine for everything but the DMV, apparently.

When I did the voter registration part of the renewal, it automatically registered me in the wrong county and I didn't know until just before an election. My polling place was a good 50 miles from my home. Talk about annoying. What's worse, I received a jury duty notice from the wrong county. How did I get out of jury duty? I sent the form back with "I don't live in your county" written on it and they dropped it.

Stupid bureaucrats.

"We'll make your lives easier--except...no."
